We don’t want to leave anyone out because of the way they chose to serve this turkey and “family-filled” holiday extended weekend. If you haven’t signed up but are planning to… now is the time 🙂
THANKSGIVING:
Other than a breakfast on Thanksgiving morning at the First Church of the Nazarene (thank you!), many of the homeless and hungry families living in poverty (who might not even have electricity to cook) will have little means to celebrate Thanksgiving as “feeding organizations” will be closed all weekend. Come with your family and adopt a few strangers for a few hours. Plant a seed of hope. Instill in your family the importance of loving the hurting right here in our city.
If you check the signup genius (link below) you can see we still need a few things (a turkey or two, a few casseroles, tables, etc). Keep in mind that you can drop them off Wednesday night between 6p and 8pm at 807 Main Street if you need or (better) bring it hot around 10:30am on Thanksgiving day. We’ll be on site decorating and prepping Wednesday night!

WHEN: 10:30 am to 1pm
WHERE: 807 Main Street, 37206
We really never know how many volunteers will show up but to be honest we can never have enough. Most of you will be behind a food service line dishing out smiles and food. Others will be pouring refills and engaging in conversation. If you are lucky, you get to sit down and “chat” with someone you don’t know.
FRANKSGIVING:
Okay, so your family from all over the United States is coming to town… we get this! You have a second chance to celebrate with turkey (or chicken) in an impoverished community in Madison, TN. We’ll be playing cornhole, throwing frisbees and footballs with kids and serving a hungry community with FRiday Thanksgiving (FRanksgiving).
Bring a side dish or dessert (tables and chairs if you got ’em)! Turkeys are provided.
WHEN: Friday, November 28th, 10:30 am to 1pm
WHERE: 335 Forest Park Avenue (Lexington Gardens)
