The Great Commission teaches us to reach out as neighbors and be good stewards with what God has given us. There are many broken and disconnected individuals that are living right here in our city. Become a volunteer today and share Christ’s love to families struggling in from the effects of poverty. Check out some of the ongoing volunteers we have listed below. North Nashville Tornado Recovery Volunteers
As we move from emergency relief to long-term rebuilding after the tornado in the North Nashville community, we will continue to serve meals, provide resources, and build relationships with the residents throughout the week. Sign up here
BECOME AN ALLY
The ally is a volunteer that fosters relationships with individuals that are seeking to make changes in their life. We have programs running all year long so you can join at any time. You don’t have to have all the answers about work and finances, you will learn alongside them. Email Hannah Commitment is between 6 weeks (Work Life) and 12 weeks (Faith & Finances).
PROVIDE A MEAL
Central to Jesus’ ministry on earth was food and we seek to emulate this as we minister to families in need. A meal is a great way to involve your small group, book club, Bible study or youth! We would love for you to provide the meal, serve the meal and join us as we break bread with families. You can sign up for dinners and childcare for our evening classes or lunches for our day-time classes. One-time commitment.
PROVIDE CHILDCARE
Let’s face it, childcare is the single greatest obstacle to work for women, regardless of socio-economic class. For the families we serve, the challenge is much greater due to transportation and low-income jobs. As part of our classes, we offer childcare free of charge. Please consider serving families through childcare. One-time commitment.
PRAY
Relationships often can be messy and frustrating. Pray that the staff and volunteers who walk with recovering people will be filled with God’s love, patience, and wisdom. There is a great expanse between the church and families in poverty. Pray for a willingness to serve and a return to sharing God’s love to the vulnerable.You can sign up for a monthly prayer list here.
EVENT HELP
Each year we invite the community to hear about Project Connect Nashville. We will be hosting a dinner again in April at First Baptist Church Nashville. We need volunteers to help us. If planning is your thing, this could be for you! 5-6 month commitment, 1-2 hours a month.
LAUNDRY SERVICE DAY
Come and assist families in the hurting community of Lexington Gardens with much-needed laundry help. You and your small group will transport the women, provide bagels and coffee and help with the folding of their clothes. This is always a really fun time for everyone. One time commitment.
WORK IN THE GARDEN
We have a garden in a community with severe food hunger issues. We need help planting, maintaining and harvesting the vegetables. Contact us for already scheduled work days. One-time commitment.
GET YOUR CHURCH INVOLVED
Every church is called to minister to the poor. Sometimes, it is hard to know where to start! We can help you talk to leaders about connecting with the needy people God sends our way.
Summer Outreach
Come and be a part of our VBS and literacy programming in the summer. We partner with mission organizations to bring in youth from around the country. We need local churches that will come and minister to this community as well. Contact us for more details.
Intern With Us
We need all types of skills to help us get the word out to the community we serve. We need photographers, graphic designers, marketing gurus and much more that we don’t even know we need. If you’re interested in joining the work God is doing here, talk to us.
